Preparation 

  • Add 2 to 3 cups of water, rinsed rajma, one bay leaf, and the necessary amount of salt to a pressure cooker. Lower the flame after the first whistle, cook for 15 minutes and then turn off the burner.
  • After draining the beans, set the water aside for future use.
  • Cumin seeds and asafoetida are added to heated oil in a large pan.
  • After that, add the finely chopped onion and cook it until it turns light brown. Add dried ginger powder and ginger paste.
  • Incorporate the tomato puree at this point and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Then, add the whipped curd and continue to stir; otherwise, it will curdle. Cook the gravy until the oil separates from it.
  • Add the red Kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, sliced green chilli, and any necessary salt.

  • Some of the rajma should be mashed to give the gravy substance.
  • On a low flame, stir it and cook it for 15 to 20 minutes. After adding handmade fresh garam masala, simmer for a further five minutes.
  • It can then be served after being finished and garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
